How Novamilli handles your information

Who we are

Novamilli is operated by Orange and Black Software B.V. in the Netherlands, which is the data controller for information processed by Novamilli. Contact support@novamilli.com with privacy or support questions.

Data stored on your device

To keep the app working, Novamilli stores pregnancy, family and app data in app-private storage on your device.

• Pregnancy and family details: due date, pregnancy status and weekly progress, and for each child you add an optional name, the date of birth, whether the baby was born early, the care setting, and your recovery reading choices.
• Article progress, shopping checklist and wishlist choices, remembered clothing sizes, symptom check-ins, appointments, weight entries, feeding, diaper and pumping logs, and emergency card details.
• Bump photo metadata and exported timeline details, plus photos or videos you choose to save to your device library.
• Language and country preferences, plus your medical disclaimer and analytics consent choices.
• If iOS or Android backup or device transfer is enabled, compatible app data may also be included in a system-managed cloud backup or copied to a new device.
• When you export a child's log, Novamilli creates the file on your device and opens your share sheet. Novamilli does not upload it; it goes only where you choose to send it, and the temporary file is deleted afterwards.

Optional partner & family sharing

Partner & Family sharing is optional. If you create a code, Novamilli stores an optional display name, due date, country, sharing settings, checklist item IDs, wishlisted product snapshots, a device public key, and random sharing identifiers on servers in the EU. If you separately enable baby-name sharing, Novamilli also stores the liked or loved names you share and followers' reactions to them. A follower may provide a display name; Novamilli then stores the follower's public key, a hashed access token, and any gift claims or name reactions. Anyone with the relevant code can access the data that code permits, so share codes only with people you trust. Turning off name sharing deletes the shared names and reactions. Stopping all sharing deletes the pregnancy record and its followers, claims, and reactions. Otherwise, the record and related data are automatically deleted 90 days after the due date. Revoking a follower blocks access and deletes that follower's claims and name reactions. If you share a family wishlist, Novamilli stores only what its preview showed you: an optional family name, optional list names, the products you chose with their size, quantity and note, and the reservations gifters make. It never includes a date of birth, an age, a due date, whether a baby was born early, recovery, care logs, or anything about a loss. Stopping a family wishlist deletes it; otherwise it is deleted 365 days after you last changed it. While you share or follow, and partner notifications are on, Novamilli stores this device's push token with that share so it can tell you about new followers and gift reservations; it is deleted when you stop sharing or following, or turn those notifications off. Symptom check-ins, appointments, emergency-card data, pregnancy-loss status, bump photos, movement and contraction sessions, birth plans, hospital-bag state, weight entries, children's details, and feeding, diaper and pumping logs are never uploaded through Partner Mode.

Optional analytics and crash reports

If you opt in, Novamilli sends limited app interactions and pregnancy-context events to Firebase Analytics, plus crash logs, diagnostics, app/device information, installation identifiers, and approximate country information to Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. Analytics never include anything about your children, a birth or a loss, recovery, feeding, diapers, pumping, clothing sizes, or exported logs. We use this only to understand feature use and improve reliability—not for advertising or cross-app tracking. Collection is disabled until you consent. Turning it off stops new reports; previously collected data remains subject to Google's Firebase retention and deletion practices.

Website and public share board

The website stores your language preference in local browser storage. If you follow a pregnancy or claim a gift from the public share board, your browser stores the device credential and follower token needed to return to that board. Website, hosting, and content-delivery providers may process your IP address and basic request information to deliver pages, images, and product data and to protect the service. Novamilli does not use advertising cookies or per-visitor website analytics.

Anonymous download measurement

When you open /download, Novamilli increments a daily aggregate counter before sending you to the App Store, Google Play, or the website. The counter contains only the campaign and Meta ad identifiers supplied in the link, a coarse country code produced by Cloudflare, your browser's primary language, device platform, and destination. Novamilli does not store an event record, IP address, cookie, click identifier, user agent, account, or persistent visitor identifier. These aggregate handoff counts do not tell us whether you installed the app.

Shopping links and remote content

Novamilli can download affiliate product suggestions and thumbnails from Novamilli-hosted files. The hosting provider receives normal technical request data such as your IP address. Shopping buttons open an external retailer only when you tap them; the retailer then processes information under its own privacy policy. Novamilli may receive an affiliate commission but does not receive your payment details.

Permissions and device access

• Camera on iOS and the Android system photo picker: to let you create or choose bump photos. Novamilli does not upload those photos.
• Media library access when you export: to save your bump timeline video to your device.
• Notifications: the weekly pregnancy update and the appointment reminders you set, planned on your device, and—only if you switch them on—a note when a new weekly guide after birth is ready. Partner & Family sharing can also send you messages about followers and gift reservations.
• Apple Health and Health Connect: only if you switch it on, Novamilli saves the weights you log to Apple Health or Health Connect on your device. It never reads your health data.

iOS and Android backup and device transfer

If device backup or transfer is enabled, Apple or Google may include compatible Novamilli data—including pregnancy, family and tracker data such as children's details and care logs—in an iCloud/iOS backup, Android cloud backup, or direct device transfer. This is controlled by your operating-system and account settings and can restore Novamilli data on another device. Novamilli does not separately access or use those backups. Exported logs and the temporary copies Novamilli makes while updating how it stores your data on Android are never included. Removing data from the app or uninstalling it may not remove an older system backup; manage or delete backups in your Apple or Google device/account settings.

How we protect data

Novamilli uses app-private storage, encrypted HTTPS connections, device-held signing keys, access controls, and data minimization. Partner Mode is hosted in the EU. We do not sell personal data, serve ads, or use data for cross-app tracking. No internet service is risk-free, so keep sharing codes private and protect access to your device and backups.

Why we process data

Where the GDPR applies, optional Partner Mode and optional analytics/crash reporting are based on your consent and your affirmative choice to enable them; this includes explicit consent to process the pregnancy information you choose to share. Essential security, abuse prevention, and service-operation data is processed for our legitimate interests in keeping Novamilli secure and available. You may withdraw consent at any time by stopping sharing or disabling analytics, without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Service providers and international processing

We use hosting and infrastructure providers for the EU Partner Mode service and remote product files, and Google Firebase for consented analytics and crash reporting. They process data on our behalf under their terms and data-protection commitments. Firebase and platform backup providers may process data outside your country; their applicable transfer safeguards and privacy terms apply. External retailers are independent controllers when you open their sites.

Data retention and deletion

Local data remains until you delete it, reset or uninstall the app, or your device/backup system removes it. System backups may retain an older copy according to your Apple or Google settings. Partner Mode data is deleted when the owner stops sharing or automatically 90 days after the due date. A shared family wishlist is deleted when you stop sharing it or 365 days after you last changed it. Firebase data follows Google's configured retention and deletion periods. Support correspondence is retained only as long as needed to answer the request and meet legal obligations.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal data, and withdraw consent. Because Novamilli has no accounts, we may need a sharing identifier or other information to locate server data without exposing someone else's information. Email support@novamilli.com. You may also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority or your local supervisory authority. Novamilli does not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects using automated processing.

Children

Novamilli is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Parents can record details about their own children—such as a name, a date of birth and care logs—which stay on the parent's device; only a family wishlist the parent chooses to share leaves it, with nothing more than its preview shows. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact support@novamilli.com so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

Your choices

• You can delete local app data in the app, stop Partner Mode to delete shared server data, and manage system backups in your Apple or Google settings.
• You can enable or disable optional analytics and crash reports inside the app at any time.
• You can contact support@novamilli.com to exercise privacy rights or ask about local data, sharing, Firebase reports, and backups.
